Technically Garbage, Aesthetically Gorgeous

Most macro enthusiasts would cringe at this photo, shot at f/2, hand held. I on the other hand have never wanted my photos more out of focus than now, with my new Zeiss, that creates the most incredible, peaceful bokeh I have seen. The possibility of isolating is better than any 1.4 i've had. Enjoy, JP.

Zeiss says it all...

I can't remember a time when I wanted something more, and for a longer time than my newly arrived Carl Zeiss Makro 100mm f/2. In just a few short minutes of play the results speak for themselves. Enjoy, JP.

Studio 2-22 Photo Circus

Although I am more than a month behind posting this it is mainly from a photo property release standpoint that I didn't post pictures from the circus. I was lucky enough to shoot with some very free models in a ultra relaxed, do what you wish photo shoot. I was supposed to shoot with a good friend and pro photog Michael Marrero. When he got booked for some work out of the country he asked if I would go it alone... Nervous I was.
But I took the gig, all for free so the pressure was off but in the end I wanted to show some talent, not knowing what would come from it.
As always I under promised and over achieved. Marky Pierson did some video and put them together with the stills to make a pretty cool short YouTube video .
This is far from normal shooting for me but was tons of fun in the end. Enjoy, JP.

Up and Down

Sorry I haven't posted recently. I have been shooting though. In the last couple weeks I have done some random shooting that you may be used to on here. Some under water (I am only posting one above water though), some unique for Key West fog, and a quasi studio/portrait/burlesque type gig (I will be posting those in the next installment if the models agree). Enjoy, JP.

Roamin the Streets

A couple more shots from a night walk on around Duval and Bahama Village. This is something I wish I did more of. Every time I go I get a little better. This is still the most challenging style of photography for me. Enjoy, JP.

Broke Down

This is a photo I took last weekend when my father and I tried to go fishing for the third time in a row the engine oil like came on and shut us down from what we found out today was a frayed oil line going to the engine. I usually don't have my camera out but decided to keep in around my neck this trip since we would be navigating calm waters through the lakes. I took this photo right when we broke down, I knew there would be no hurry at this point as it had happened before. Just goes to show the best camera there is is the one you have with you. Enjoy, JP.

Cruisin the Streets (Beta V1.0)

Here are a couple shots from my bike ride earlier this week. I am trying to learn how to see in the streets. It is the most challenging type of photography for me. Its still in Beta, but i'm working on it. Enjoy, JP.

High ISO Love.

I can't help enjoy the smoothness created by the Nikkor 35mm f/2 Manual Focus and D300 at IS0 1600. Nuff said. Enjoy, JP.

Sb-900 Versatility.

I have never considered using flash for landscape use but just went out with my new Nikon sb-900 flash, which is by far the coolest toy i've ever bought, and realized some cool effects I could make using its concentrated beam setting. This is my favorite photo from the day. Enjoy, JP.

One Day, One Location.

This set of photos is from the latest (8th Annual) pig roast. All shots were taken at one house on one particular day. The chair photo is probably one of my top 5 favorite photos. Enjoy, JP.
