Color You Had to See

Don't have much to say. Thats why I post so many pictures. Here's your thousand words.

Bowling Sucks

I just wanted to tell everyone how much bowling sucks (this does not include Wii bowling). Division I collegiate athlete. 30 stolen bases. 38 game hitting streak. Can beat most people i've met in a just about any athletic event you can name or think of. Your 7 year old niece, 12 year old brother, your 16 daughter... they can all beat me at bowling.
I absolutely suck at bowling and therefore think bowling sucks too. Enjoy the photo, JP.

P.S. I pretty sure I didn't pick up this spare.

Key West Sand Key Aerial

A couple weeks ago I had a great opportunity to shoot for Fury Adventures. For those of you who have this blog, my facebook, Red Mangrove facebook, and Red Mangrove blog, this will be redundant. This is a company owned photo for which I was the photographer which is why its making my personal outlets. I have shown this on all internet outlets because i'm very proud of how it shows the incredible reef where I live. I am also trying to get this photo out to those companies that represent Key West to the rest of the world. People should realize these delicate ecosystems need to be saved. Enjoy, JP

City Scapes

Off for a little vacation last weekend and took some nightscapes handheld with the D700. Still amazes me as to how great the high ISO photos handle color and the ability to push the NEF's in all directions while developing. Although I do like the 5DII I use often, the files just can't handle the same push and pull. Enjoy, JP

Rest Time

Being that Red Mangrove had a few really busy weeks (most of the editing still continues) we finally got some time without shooting this weekend so I decided to steal the good ol nikon from the studio. Just wanted to share some mess around photos, some food which I have started to grow a passion for. Enjoy, JP

P.S. I think Banana Cafe deserves a plug here, for those of you who know me you have already heard this. They have the best iced coffee on the planet. It is about 20 ounces of pure espresso which I put a tad of milk and a ton of simple syrup. Most people have a coffee in the morning to start their day. I have Banana's Iced coffee on Sunday for the entire week.

Ultra Wide Mechanics

For a recent job I had to rent the Canon 17mm ts-e which is the widest tilt/shift rectilinear lens available to the public. It is the perfect lens for shooting wide in the cramped spaces of our little island without buildings falling out of the screen and intersecting lines. I wish I could keep this lens forever but at $2500 i'm glad it was available for rent for this specific job. These photos are not tilted much but show the ultra wide angle of view. Enjoy, JP

Bagatelle Food

Jumped into some more food photography last week. Just happens the last two places I've shot are probably my favorite 2 restaurants. Once again I had great window lighting which gave me half the shot of which I just had to compensate for the other side. It was a great time and consequently I got to eat some fabulous food and have a Martini (or two). Bon appetit, Red Mangrove Inc.

Up In Smoke...

Here are the promised images from the last post. These are Michael Marrero's portraits which are a whole lot more telling of his everyday life than mine are. This was a little more simple to light but difficult in catching the moment as smoke dissipates pretty quick, especially if you aren't trigger happy (like me). Taken by your's truly. Enjoy, JP
